2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

"Come Fly With Me"

93 points from Robert Parker

Delivered in a lay down wood case. Along with Frank Sinatra “Come Fly With Me” CD.

Vineyard/Appellation: Calistoga
Color: Deep purple
Nose: Currant, black cherry and marzipan
Palate: Very rich and concentrated cherry with hints of leather and spice.
Finish: Long and foreboding with cherry and vanilla.
Cellaring Suggestions: Drink now through 2020.

Introducing the inaugural release of our 2007 Sinatra Family Estates Cabernet Sauvignon. This very special wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (90%), Cabernet Franc (7%) and Petit Verdot (3%) from our estate vineyards just south of Calistoga in the northern crest of Napa Valley.

The unique climate of the region is known for its remarkable day-to-night temperature differential, which yields firmer and riper wines. Our 2007 vintage was selected as the vines benefited from an extended growing season.

Our grapes were hand-picked on October 12th, 2007. The wine was racked 3 times and remained in 100% new French oak barrels. We use a combination of Taransaud, Saury and Seguin Moreau cooperage. After 22 months of aging, we bottled the wine on August 19th, 2009.

The result is an outstanding wine that exhibits a deep ruby/purple color with classic aromas of baked plums, chocolate, currant and vanilla. Mouth coating flavors of cedar, tobacco leaf, blueberry and black cherry lay densely across your palate. The finish is lush and round with great richness. The tannins are ripe, polished and approachable now. The wine will age gracefully for the next 6-8 years.

Because our wine is meant to be enjoyed while listening to the Chairman of the Board, each vintage 2007 six-bottle set is accompanied by a CD of the original 1957 recording of the Come Fly With Me album. This album was Sinatra's first-ever #1 on the Billboard charts and was nominated for an Album of the Year Grammy. Also included is a first-day struck Frank Sinatra official 42 cent US postal stamp and postcard (May 13, 2008-Las Vegas), signed by a Sinatra family member.

It's a beautiful and tasteful way to celebrate the Chairman of the Board.
